East Anglian Sea School offers a wide range of instructor training and is one of the few training centers in the UK that is qualified to teach the RYA Cruising Instructor course.
The first step on the instructor ladder is to become a RYA Cruising Instructor, this can be taken for sail and/or motor yachts and allows you to teach practical courses up to RYA Day Skipper level for RYA training centres.

The RYA Motor Instructor course is a 4 day course which teaches and assesses your ability to instruct motor cruising. This training would enable you to instruct within a recognised sea school up to Day Skipper level.
Before attending a cruising instructor course you must hold a current commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence and have passed the free RYA Cruising Instructor online pre-course knowledge check.
The course is taught by the school principle, who is a Yachtmaster examiner and has a wealth of experience teaching complete beginners to advanced levels on all disciplines; motor, sail, dinghy, power & shorebased.
Successful candidates will be awarded the Cruising Instructor endorsement that is valid for five years.
There may also be opportunities to teach for us at East Anglian Sea School depending on current demand as we like to give our 'home grown' instructors a chance to gain experience in the teaching environment.

Candidates should hold a commercial Yachtmaster practical Certificate of Competence and should have held a Cruising Instructor qualification for two years.

The Yachtmaster Instructor shorebased is a 5 day training course as an assistant instructor on a RYA Navigation course, covering all elements of planning teaching and assessment candidates should have a full working knowledge of coastal navigation and collision regulations.
