Steaditrack Career Training
We do not do "fast track". We believe that it is better to put together a package of courses and voyages over a period of time to suit individual personal goals and existing experience. Whether you wish to gain a Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore certificate for pleasure or commercial use. Any previous qualifications and experience will be helpful to reduce the overall training time. If you wish to use your qualifications commercially you would need to do a couple of additional courses and gain a MCA approved medical.
Part of Steaditrack training is gaining mileage at sea. This can be achieved by completing our Fastnet package or Round Britain trip for yachts or deliveries and motor flotilla trips for motor. We endeavour to get Steaditrack students involved with assisting on yacht or motor boat deliveries to broaden their experience on different vessels and in different locations.
Suggested Previous Experience
None. Any experience you may possess will be helpful in reducing the cost. You must hold a valid MCA Medical Fitness Report (ML5).
The training will be tailored to suit your individual needs to include some or all of the following:
Shorebased RYA theory courses for sail and motor
Sail Option Practical courses
Motor Option Practical courses
Courses required for Commercial Endorsement
A medical certificate either ML5 or ENG1 is also mandatory, and we advise that this is obtained early during the training to ensure you can use the qualifications commercially, and that you are not wasting valuable time unnecessarily.
RYA/MCA Certificate of Competence at the appropriate level when successful in the practical examination with the option for the Commercial Endorsement.
Due to the nature of this training dates and fees are arranged on an individual basis. Many of these courses can be completed at weekends reducing time taken from work.
