This 2 day course is targeted at those who want to fine tune their skills before going on a flotilla holiday. You will practice many of the skills you may encounter on your flotilla holiday including some basic chart work, planning and skippering a short passage.
You will receive expert tuition from one of our qualified RYA instructors who is there not only to teach and give confidence but to ensure you have an enjoyable time.
Please note that the course does not cover detailed navigation such as the international collision regulations i.e. rules of the road, as there is not enough time during this course. It is strongly recommended that you enroll on our 2 day Essential Navigation & Seamanship course, preferably before you attend your practical course.
The course fee includes full board for the duration of your course, tuition, safety gear, mooring fees and fuel so there is nothing else to pay whilst on board. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow.
If you are intending to bareboat charter a yacht abroad, where you are not part of a flotilla, we recommend you hold the International Certificate of Competence or RYA Day Skipper qualification. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further. Your training will be on one of our training yachts fitted with the latest electronic equipment.
If you wish to charter a yacht through East Anglian Sea School at preferential rates please see our charter section on the home page.
