The aim of the RYA Sail Cruising and Yachtmaster Scheme is to encourage the high standards of seamanship and navigation; in pursuit of the RYA's belief that a system of voluntary education is more likely to achieve higher standards of safety, than legislation to control and regulate our sport.

RYA Motor Cruising & Yachtmaster Scheme

The aim of the RYA Motor Cruising and Yachtmaster Scheme is to encourage the high standards of seamanship and navigation. The scheme comprises a series of complementary practical and shorebased courses for which course completion certificates are awarded.

RYA European Waterways Regulations (CEVNI Rules)

The CEVNI code provides a set of signs, rules and procedures for navigating the Inland Waterways of Europe, which are heavily utilised by commercial traffic whose operators are well aware of CEVNI requirements.

RYA National Sailing Scheme

The RYA National Sailing Scheme has been designed to help you enjoy whichever aspect of the sport that appeals to you. All the courses in the Scheme can be taken in a dingy, keelboat or multihull so you can have tuition in whatever type of boat you wish.

The RYA Powerboat scheme meets the training needs of both recreational and professional powerboat operators alike. Whether you are an amateur with a keen sense of adventure or use powerboats as part of your job, the RYA Powerboat program will train you in all aspects of safe boat handling and navigation.
