If you have the desire to take part as a crew member that likes to be part of a winning team and has the drive to achieve personal goals, the Fastnet Race is a challenge you cannot miss.
The RORC Rolex Fastnet Race starts at Cowes on the Isle of Wight and continues towards the Fastnet Rock off the Southern tip of Ireland via Lands End, returning outside the Scilly Isles to finish at Plymouth.
You are responsible for making your own transport arrangements for the above programmes when required. There may be opportunities to share travel costs with other crew members when travelling to and from Southampton and the return from Plymouth.

ISAF Racing Crew Certificate
First Aid and Survival Training with heavy weather procedures are over a weekend at the Sea School at Suffolk Yacht Harbour.
The Race Training
Events at Suffolk Yacht Harbour start on a Friday evening with the welcome and briefing on board and Saturdays and Sundays where the race training takes place.
The RORC North Sea Race
This is our first qualifying race to enhance team bonding and set the scene for tactics to be adopted. Commencing on Thursday evening at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, the race takes place during the next four days and covers approximately 450 nautical miles, returning to Suffolk Yacht Harbour Monday afternoon.
The RORC East Coast Race
Takes place after our second Race Training event. Joining the yachts on Friday evening, the race finishes Monday afternoon having covered approximately 250 nautical miles and having honed skills in readiness for the race from Suffolk Yacht Harbour to Southampton.
Race Training
To Southampton is the final race between our yachts approximately 220 nautical miles before the Fastnet Race takes place. This starts Thursday evening and arrives in Southampton on Sunday afternoon ready for Cowes week for those who may wish to stay.
The RORC Fastnet Race
Starts by joining the yachts on Saturday and finishes on Thursday/Friday with the awards ceremony and East Anglian Sea School celebrations!
The East Anglian Sea School Fastnet 2009 package should cover some 1800 quality miles and give experience that will be memorable and unique. |
